In the titile of this blog, Cactus, Cats, and Coyotes (Kahy-oht), each word represents a different meaning to illegal immigration. Cactus, first off, symbolizes the setting that illegal immigration, the Sonoran Desert, Rocky Mountains, and the Sierra Madre mountains create a rugged and harsh terrain. This large harsh terrain makes it hard for border patrol to track immigrants. This also makes it dangerous for immigrants to attempt to cross, dehydration and poisonous animals are just a few dangers that claim the lives of hundreds of immigrants just searching for a better life.
Cats stands for the people who are naive, the innocent people just trying to provide for their family in a country that seems to be superiour to their homeland in everyway. They are as curious to find out what is on the other side of the fence they will needlessly risk the lives and safety of themselves and even their families. If you own a cat you know that your cat will never purposefully try to harm itslef or disobey you, they just do it becuase they dont know any better. A large percentage of people involved in illegal immigration would be considered "Cats."
The final word "Coyote" referres to the small portion of people involved in illegal immigration that purposefully try to do harm or commit felonies to either the american people or the "cats." Living in Arizona you know not to leave your pet cat outside because the coyotes would kill or take it. This is the same on the boarder, the word Coyotes doesn't just mean a wolf like animals out west. It also stands for people that smuggle other immigrants into the United State for an extremely high base price then they make them pay extra if they get to the U.S. Drug dealers and excaped convicts are alson part of the illegal immigrants that come to the U.S. that could be classified as "Coyotes" in this blog.
Of all the issues that need solving in the United States of America, illegal immigration may be toward the botom of that list for many citizens because they feel it only affects a few states and whats wrong with letting a few extra people into our great nation? Well these people dont just affect the few states in the west, they affect everyone in the United States and they affect people in ways they dont realize. This blog will help people realized these affects.
